The Challenge

The Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) is a national center within Boston University School of Social Work. When they approached Jackrabbit LX, they needed to update their student learning experience, course content, and their process for developing and delivering courses to students.

Additionally, CADER had a large number of certificate-bearing courses that needed migration to a newer, more agile version of their LMS platform without interruption of offering those courses to their students.

The Process

In our initial discovery, Jackrabbit LX identified aspects of CADER’s development process that could be modernized to save substantial time. We also took a deep dive into the new LMS and identified opportunities to update the look and feel as well as optimize the platform’s capabilities.

Jackrabbit LX assembled a team of developers and designers to work with the Center’s staff to review several of their current courses and their current process. Our team then migrated each course to the new platform, presenting opportunities for learner experience improvements to the courses. Simultaneously, they  developed and documented a new process for creating and implementing content in a fully executed “Playbook.” With the new Playbook we could move even more quickly to update CADER’s entire course catalog.

The Solution

After successfully migrating twenty-one courses to the new platform, Jackrabbit LX will continuously review and improve each course to further enhance the learning experience for CADER’s students. New courses have deeper engagement, more interactivity, are more hands-on, and have work-relevant experiences and assessments

Vital Strategies

Developing a virtual adaptation of the international non-profit Data to Policy program.

“After being disrupted by COVID, Jackrabbit LX helped us to gather insights from program participants and stakeholders to merge our short-term pivot with our longer term objectives for the program. The solution included the legacy program’s essential components – including mentoring and project-based learning – all of which have received positive feedback from participants.”
